StoryForward NYC Pitch Fest 2017
StoryForward NYC
It’s the start of a brand new year, and what better way to kick it off than with a good old-fashioned pitch fest?
We welcome everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) to bring a film, a play, an idea for a mobile app, whatever, if it’s a story, it’s for us. Whether it’s in early development or the final stages of production, no project is too big or too small.*
DETAILS
WHO: Who will you be pitching to? Your fellow storytellers of course! Now’s the time to show the community your stuff, who knows you might even find a new partner, investor or team member.
WHAT: We ask you to prepare a 3 to 5-minute presentation on your project in the form you feel most comfortable whether it’s a fancy powerpoint or a spoken-word poem, whatever you think makes the most sense for you and your story.
WHERE: This will be in our Adorama location, so feel free to bring whatever technology you need to support your pitch.
HOW: To keep the program organized and on track we ask that everyone who will be pitching to please email us a one or two sentence description of your pitch at nyc@storyforward.org so that we can set you up with a time slot. We will email everyone their slot the DAY BEFORE the event.
This is a great event for new members! So, if you’re bringing a project, your mission is to bring a guest as well, a friend, colleagues, family member, we won’t judge.
Lastly, this event is meant to be fun, we will be encouraging active audience participation, so be prepared to talk whether you bring a project or not.
Let’s start 2017 the best way we know how by celebrating our love of story with each other.
*Please note that if we do not have at least 8 projects signed up by January 10th we will have to cancel the event, so be sure to tell your friends and fellow storytellers to sign up soon!
